Award Criteria & Categories

The Pecan Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross us looking for ordinary individuals who have acted in an extraordinary way. For those who have demonstrated an act of heroism, we would like to honor and pay tribute to them at our 1st Annual Everyday Heroes Celebration to be held Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Howard Payne University Mabee Center in Brownwood, Texas.

Nominations will be accepted from the community-at-large for recognition of individuals in designated award categories. Awards will focus on a single event of an act of heroism. Award nomination forms must be completed and returned to the Red Cross office by February 1, 2010.

A Panel of community leaders will serve as the Selection Committee and will review and select one individual (or group for one incident) per category for final award selection. Awards will be presented at our Everyday Heroes Celebration Event.

Categories

*Fire (paid or volunteer) *Law Enforcement (paid or volunteer)
*Medical Response *Youth Hero (youth under 21)
*Military *Educator

criteria

  1. Nominees must be a resident of one of the following counties; Brown, Mills, McCulloch or San Saba.

  2. The nominee must fall into one of the award categories.

  3. Specific and complete details of the event must be given, with a completed application submitted.

  4. Heroes nominators must be available for photography in advance of the ceremony.
